Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy
For patients of all ages and gender. In non-technical terms, “osteopathic manipulation” means moving parts or tissues of your body in various ways to help them work properly, both inherently and in relation to other body parts, body systems, and the body as a whole.
Dr. Michopoulos begins each session with a discussion and an initial examination to determine a treatment approach. Based on your unique needs at the time of your appointment, she then decides the approach for future sessions. For this reason, each osteopathy session is unique.
Lifestyle Medicine
Lifestyle medicine is the use of evidence-based interventions including implementing whole-food, nourishing eating habits, regular physical activity, restorative sleep, gut health and stress management to prevent, treat and often reverse chronic disease. Dr. Michopoulos will take an in-depth look into your medical and lifestyle history and come up with a tailored plan to help you achieve your goals. Whether it is resolving gut issues, chronic illness, increase energy, prevent disease or just work to increase longevity and quality of life Dr. Michopoulos will help you learn how to:
Take back your health; take responsibility for your own wellness.
Recognize, listen to, and trust your body knowledge and help others learn to do the same.
Let go of fear created by a disease-based medical model and embrace a health-centered approach to healing.
Insulin Resistance Treatment
For patients of all genders. Insulin resistance is something that is heavily affecting us as a nation and the new research on it requires a very different approach from the standard “calories in vs calories out” theory. We’ll discuss your history with diet and exercise followed by a review of prior medical records/test results, a physical examination, and an understanding of your healthcare preferences. We will discuss the long-term side effects of insulin resistance and the impact it has on weight, the cardiovascular system, the hepatic system and the body as a whole. Then we’ll chart a customized path towards your success.
